Responding to headline, Steve Bull, MRICS, Operations Director, home inspectors.co.uk says.....
"With the arrival of mandatory Home Condition Reports (HCRs) within Home Information Packs (HIPs) from 1st June 2007, the Government has opened the door on a massive new home inspection industry, with no bars to new-entrants joining the ranks of Licensed Home Inspectors.
There are superb opportunities for recently retired, would-be home inspectors and we are meeting many like-minded people at our free events around the country. As long as you are physically fit to safely undertake residential property inspections, this is genuine opportunity for you.
home inspectors.co.uk are national leaders in home inspector training and will have a national consultancy of independent, licensed home inspectors to provide quality, panel managed work and support services once qualified".
The ABBE Diploma in Home Inspection (Dip H.I.), is a Vocational Qualification (VRQ) equivalent to a Level 4 NVQ. The Qualification is obtained through assessment of a portfolio of the candidates' evidence against the 5 Elements of the National Occupational Standards for Home Inspectors.
Our new-entrant, flexible learning course is a 12 month package of flexible learning in partnership with a leading technical college, Manchester Open Learning (MOL), coupled with a bespoke programme of practical training from home inspectors.co.uk.
The course is based on a flexible home study Workbook with full tutor support, for candidates to obtain the underpinning, technical construction and building defects "Knowledge and Understanding" required for the Diploma. There are also 8 days of practical training workshops (in Manchester and the Midlands).
The 4 MOL workshops reinforce the technical content of the home study pack and the 4 days with home inspectors.co.uk provide the practical skills on the Home Condition Report (HCR), SAP Energy Rating (with Elmhurst Energy Systems), preparing portfolio evidence for Assessment and preparing for the ABBE External Exam.
Candidates are provided with all course materials, training software and mentoring support during the course which can be completed in 9 -12 months depending on time available. As this course was designed to fit around a day job, newly retired candidates should be in a stronger position to invest more time studying and therefore, become better prepared for technical assessment and examination.
home inspectors.co.uk can provide this fully inclusive package of training for just £6,750 + partial Vat, to include all college study, practical training, Assessment Centre fees and the ABBE External Exam fees.
Our course has proved very popular and our first Induction Day on 16 February 2006 is already fully subscribed. Courses start every month throughout 2006.
